The mission of Pet Prevent a Litter (PALS) of Central Texas, a non-profit organization, is to help end pet overpopulation and pet homelessness. PALS is dedicated to promoting responsible pet care through community education and spay/neuter programs for those in need. PALS provides a human service by assisting economically challenged people to extend their limited resources to their families, rather than caring for and feeding unwanted pets. We provide spay/neuter services to stop litters of unwanted surplus pets which would likely end up in shelters to be destroyed.

Ready to Adopt?

Cats and kittens rescued from the streets are taken into PALS foster care. We socialize them and then find them forever indoor homes. They are all vaccinated, and spayed or neutered when they are old enough.

About Pet Prevent A Litter (PALS) of Central Texas

Originally formed as an animal welfare (501(c)(3) charitable organization in 1990 by a group of volunteers united to help reduce pet overpopulation.  We reorganized in 2003; PALS expanded the mission, programs and geographic outreach in support of the No Kill Initiative.

PALS endorses Trap Neuter Return Maintain as the only humane option for managing free-roaming, unowned cats, and supports volunteers in PALS TNRM  through training advocacy and community outreach.  Cats and kittens rescued from the streets are available for adoption.

The PALS' spay/neuter Cat Clinic at 215 West San Antonio Street started as a mobile animal surgical hospital in 2010.

Today we offer spay/neuter assistance across our region.
