Pet Fest 5K & Fun Run/Dog Jog 10/6/2012

Distance: 5K & 1 mile all ages Fun Run & ¼ mile Kids Fun Run
Location: San Marcos City Park (behind Lions Club Tube Rental), 170 Charles Austin Drive, San Marcos, TX

Start time: 8:00 a.m for 5K, and 9:00 a.m for Fun Runs

The Pet Fest 5K and Fun Run will be run along the beautiful San Marcos River trails. The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8:00 a.m. The all ages Fun Runs will start at 9:00 a.m. The all ages Fun Run has 2 distances to choose from– 1 mile and ¼ mile. Well behaved dogs on leashes no longer than 6 feet are welcome to participate with their humans. The awards for the 5K are Paw Print medals. Dogs even have the opportunity to win a medal. All proceeds will be used by PALS of Central Texas to provide pet spay/neuter services to those who need assistance.
 
Includes all ages Fun Runs, along the beautiful San Marcos River trails, Paw Print medals for humans and dogs.

1:00      Best Trick Contest

1:30     “A Kid’s Best Friend” Costume Contest (human age 16 & under)  

2:00      Pet/Guardian Look-Alike Contest

2:30      Break for 15 minutes

2:45      “My Name Should Be in Lights” Costume Contest (human Age 17 & over)

3:15     Best Rescue Story Contest (back by popular demand)

3:30     “Team Work” Costume Contest (3 or more in team, Can be mix of pets & people)

4:00      Weenie & Chihuahua Races                 

****any kind of pet welcome in the contests (must be a dog for the races)****

PET FEST is PALS’ largest fundraiser of the year.  In addition to generating donations, the purpose of the event is to generate public awareness for the needs of animals, promote responsible pet guardianship and celebrate the human-animal bond.
