Mutt Strutt
April 19, 2008 |
The San Marcos Mutt Strutt is held to show off our canine friends, while raising funds for the shelter animals and spay and neuter programs. Dog races and games, along with exciting activities for the entire family to enjoy, make the Mutt Strutt a favorite event of the community. The Mutt Strutt benefits the homeless pets of the San Marcos Animal Shelter. We strive to make the community a better place by providing wellness services, spay/neuter and vaccinations to the Shelter animals. We are fostering a humane and compassionate society through education and training. We increase the visibility of Shelter pets for adoption. Mutt Strutt brings attention to the issues of pet overpopulation and responsible pet ownership. |

Rabies Vaccinations
The City of San Marcos sponsored a low-cost rabies vaccination and pet license clinic each October. In 2006,
71 shots were administered and PALS (Pet Prevent a Litter) was on hand to provide spay and neuter vouchers to those in need.
